NDIS Updates from 1 July 2026
What You Need to Know
Every year, the NDIS reviews its pricing to make sure support services stay fair, sustainable and accessible for everyone. The new prices come into effect on 1 July 2026, and we've put together this simple guide, so you know exactly what's changed and what it means for you.
What's Changed?
π· Support Worker Rates Have Increased
Support Worker prices have gone up following the latest Fair Work Commission wage review. This is great news for the hardworking people who show up every day to support our community, and it means participants can continue to access quality, fairly-paid support.
Any changes to your service agreement must always be discussed and agreed with you before they take effect.
π Respite Care (Short Term Accommodation) Is Getting a Fairer Structure
This is one of the most meaningful changes for participants and families.
Previously, respite stays were charged as a single daily rate, which didn't always reflect the actual support someone received. From 1 July 2026, accommodation and support hours are now separate, meaning:
β
You're only charged for the support you actually receive
β
The level and timing of support is reflected more accurately
β
Participants who need higher-intensity support can have that recognised properly
It's a fairer, more transparent way of doing things.
π©Ί Therapy Support Prices Have Been Reviewed
Therapy prices have been benchmarked against broader health markets β including Medicare and private health insurance rates β to make sure they reflect what therapists are actually charging across Australia.
Some therapy prices have gone up, and some have been adjusted down. Either way, the goal is to keep NDIS therapy pricing in line with the real world, so participants can continue accessing the professionals they need.
This applies to supports like:
Psychologists
Occupational Therapists
Speech Pathologists
Physiotherapists
Dietitians
Exercise Physiologists
And more
π Support Coordination β No Change
If you have Support Coordination in your plan, prices are staying the same. Stable and consistent.
π Plan Management β Small Update
The monthly Plan Management fee has had a minor adjustment to keep up with administrative costs. If you use a Plan Manager, they will communicate any relevant changes to you directly.
π Living in a Remote or Isolated Area?
The NDIS has also updated its approach to pricing for people in remote and isolated communities, introducing a clearer two-tier framework to better support areas where providers face higher travel costs and thinner markets.
If you're in a remote area, higher rates still apply, and this update makes the system more targeted and transparent.
